The Secret to Fat Loss

If you look at the numbers, over $30 BILLION per year, you would think that the secret to fat loss was just that, a big secret that millions are constantly searching for and not finding. Let me pull the curtain back, upset an entire industry and let you in on the magic; The secret to fat loss is focus, discipline, patience, attitude and finding the program which best matches 'YOU', your personality and your lifestyle.

The first four items I listed are the most difficult to find and maintain, and without them, I can almost guarantee you failure. The bright side is that those four items are free and with the right program, they are easy to maintain! You have to find those four 'elements of success' within you. They are not found in a pill, drink or powder and if anyone in a store, online or on the street tries selling them to you, run.

The part that is going to cost you money is deciding which program is best for you and with so many out there, my goal is to narrow your search down and give you 3 options, which in my opinion, represent the best of the best on the internet.

First, lets go over some myths and realities about fat loss. The things I am going to share with you are by no means a secret so make sure you share this information.

Myth-

If I keep doing more sit ups and crunches, it will melt the fat off my belly, my spare tire will go away and I will have six pack abs.

Reality-

A lean and chiseled midsection is the result of proper nutrition, effective cardiovascular training and proper weight training

Myth-

If I incorporate weights or resistance training into my workout, I am going to bulk up

Reality-

This is the one I get the most from all the ladies I have worked with over the years and it is one of the biggest myths out there. As far as putting together an effective fat loss program, it would be very difficult to do without weights. Resistance training is a great way to really fire up your oven, which in turn will help burn fat more effectively.

Myth-

The more cardio I do, the more fat I am going to burn

Reality-

Activites like biking, running and swimming are great and should be a part of almost any training program but done in excess or worse, on its own will actual hurt your fat loss efforts.

Myth-

If I take this "magic" pill or shake or rub on this "magic" cream, that will burn all my excess fat

Reality-

WRONG, WRONG, and WRONG! While there are some supplements out there that can and do help with your fat loss efforts, there are none that can completely replace a good nutrition and physical fitness program.

Myth-

I am going to lose fat by eating a lot less or eliminating a specific nutrient from my diet.

Reality-

One of the worst things you can do to your body is starve it and protein, carbs and fat exist becuase your body needs all of them. I would never recommend completely eliminating any of those vital nutrients from your diet and if any product or person tells you that the secret to fat loss is not including one of those, tell them to take a hike.
